Hi, I’m Todd Hendricks.

I’m a staff-level site reliability and infrastructure engineer with more than 25 years of experience in Linux systems, online operations, and large-scale platforms. My focus is on building reliable, maintainable infrastructure and helping teams manage the complexity that comes with operating distributed systems in production.

During 14 years at LinkedIn, I worked across distributed data storage and caching infrastructure. I was the first full-time site reliability engineer supporting Espresso, LinkedIn’s in-house distributed document storage system, and later specialized in Couchbase and the infrastructure needed to provide caching services to engineering teams across the company.

My major projects have included a fleet-wide migration from bare-metal infrastructure to Kubernetes with zero downtime, along with building the provisioning, management, and monitoring systems needed to operate Couchbase as a service at scale. This work combined architecture, automation, production operations, and close collaboration with the teams relying on those services. Earlier in my career, I managed online server administration at Playboy Enterprises while remaining directly involved in the underlying systems and infrastructure.

I’m also exploring agentic coding and how large language models can support software design, implementation, and iteration. My portfolio includes practical experiments with these tools, informed by the same engineering concerns that have shaped my infrastructure work: reliability, scalability, maintainability, and usefulness.
